Thing One and Thing Two

Playful poem for someone special to me.
--

If I was thing one
And you were thing two
I would say to you
Hey thing two
I think I’m in love with you

Now you would say
Hey, that’s not quite right
Why should I be thing two tonight

We would fuss and fight
Tickle and tease
Gurgles and shouts
Ha’s and whee’s!

Now as thing one
The best one at that
I’d say to you with a pat
You are not just thing two to me
Can’t you see?
You are the whole world to me
Not thing two or thing B
Thing Do or thing mi

Guardian Angel

I do not particularly follow a particular faith. For the longest time I believed that the world was on it's own. Set forward by pure science and luck.

My faith has changed then, when I moved away from home.
But then the question came forth: Which religion do I follow?
I find it hard to answer that. I turn to all different forms of deities when I am feeling stressed, or lost. It isn't because I am fickle and indecisive, but rather that I believe that if the faith is there, it shouldn't matter which religion I believe in.
The faith remains the same shouldn't it?
I've been broken and lost. Shattered into a million pieces and I thought I could never, ever, pick myself back up. I didn't think I had the courage to pick up my head and go on with my day. Then I met this person...wonderful person and honestly the first thing running through my mind when I first saw her was: "Wouldn't it be great to know her?"
Things may not be working out for me at the moment, but the day goes on. Between us, money, things like that do not matter. In the end... at the end of the day, I realize that she's my best friend. The bond between us is strong and can not be broken that easily.
In strange ways our lives overlap.
This was inspired by her. I promised to always protect her. I don't have to. She's strong, she can protect herself. But I want to. I feel like it's the least I can do for her. She is so brave and has such a big heart. It's hard not to fall for someone like her.
When I feel broken and lost...I know she's there with me. And I remind her the same each day.
"Hey, dear...I'm not that far away after all."

Guardian Angels protect me
Giving me strength when I might fall
Giving me the power to go on
Giving me light before dawn

She watches over me
Guiding me when I’m lost
Giving me grace through it all
Allowing me to go where I want

To take the road I want to take
She judges me
Not on my religion, but my faith
Not on my belief nor my hate
But rather my love for her
To her I’m no other –
There can be no other stronger
Than my love for her

Rainy Days

I want to say
Don't be afraid
I'll hold your hand through
These rainy days

The sun will rise
Dry away the rain
As time goes on by
Taking away the fear and pain

Distracted

It's been awhile. Distracted by work. Sometimes I forget the things that mean the most to me.
--

Distracted by particles
Dancing through the air
Stuck here daydreaming
Without a care
Wondering about
Where you are
Tell me, are you somewhere
Dancing with the stars?

But please, come back soon
Because you feel so far.

[When you're not beside me
It feels strange.
Like I can't breathe
Too great of a change.
You've opened my eyes
And I don't feel the same.
You. You made me believe
That life can be fine again.]

Monster

In a way our lives are entwined
But it keeps getting caught within our own net of misery
Their lives fade and start to dim
It makes it hard, so we can’t see
Making us forget what we truly are
But then the wind answers me…
Monsters.

What’s that I hear?
I hear a voice
I hear a whisper
A voice that mumbled something
Something like…
Monsters

Somehow I’m sure an ocean’s breeze will calm the storm
But only that and nothing more
Walking through the bloodstained halls –
Pushing through these crimson doors
And all I hear is the voice grows louder
It grows angrier
Shaking fear through my bones
And it shouts to me
Monster!

Blinded by the darkness
Confused by the rain
Frightened by the voice
The moaning voice returns again
Monster

Mustering the courage
I clench my fist
And bare my teeth
I shout to the invisible voice
“I may be a monster
That I know
But the very least
I have things to show.
The conquest
The horror
I’ve seen it all
At least I’ve been there
Through it all.”
But I’m a monster.

Do You Catch Your Breath When I Look At You?

Let me be the one
To make it all right
To count the stars tonight
Let me be the one
To share all your smiles and tears
To take away all your fears
Oh please –
Let me be the one

Cause I can tell by the look in your eyes
Just come here and let me blow your mind
But go ahead
Take your sweet, sweet time
Don’t worry, when you finally decide
I'll still be here
No envy or fear
Just waiting by your side

Give me a chance
Because I want to believe
That miracles
Arise from impossibilities

The Stranger

I watched that fateful day
Where you descended from the sky
Onto Earth, but yet so far away
I watched you – with wondering eyes

I saw the sky grow weary
It seemed ready to cry
It cried a curtain around me
And I stood there – for I was dry.

You walked towards me in the pouring rain
I reached out to your hand with sigh
At the border of tears and pain
I took your hand into mine

You were but a stranger to me
Yet I pulled you close, ‘til the rain passed by
The rain and tears kept going steadily
But here we still kept dry.
