I would have let you leave

Inspired by Katie Herzig's line, "I would've let you leave" in Static Waves. Amazing song.
Some parts probably sound familiar, probably cause I've had this awesome song on loop.

--

Doesn’t matter if I didn’t want to
I would have let you leave
But do tell me
Of your foreign victories
When we’re miles apart
In distance and the heart

I trace the steps
To the day
Where we parted
Cause I count the steps
From where I am
And where we started

I know you’ll never understand
But try to follow with me
If you can

If you can try
I wouldn’t mind
I want to tell you
I wished you mine

Cause here I stand
Even if it’s just sentimentally
I would have let you leave
Here’s the key that I still hold faithfully

I held your hand
When mine were shaking
I kissed your lips
When they were quivering

But now you need
Someone to be
Something better than me
I would have let you leave

But I’m begging for you not to leave

Everything I Say or Do

[Verse 1]
And everything I say or do
Just ends up reminding me of you
Can’t go on like this – no more woah

Just feeling a little out of touch
But I’m afraid to say too much
Oh please don’t – walk out the door

[Chorus]
Cause I don’t want see you leave
But as I grab my hat,
You go and grab your keys
I try to stop you in the doorway –
With words that I didn’t know
How to say…
How to say~

[Verse 2]
Cause every night when I close my eyes
Ready for sleep to take my life
Can’t go on like this – no more oh

This feeling of lonesome blues
It’s me afraid of losing you
Oh please don’t – walk out the door

[Chorus x2]
Cause I don’t want see you leave
But as I grab my hat,
You go and grab your keys
I try to stop you in the doorway –
With words that I didn’t know
How to say…
How to say~

Cause I don’t want see you leave
But as I grab my hat,
You go and grab your keys
I try to stop you in the doorway –
With words that I didn’t know
How to say…
How to say~

So Sorry

[Intro]
Why am I always like this?
No matter what I do, nothing goes right
If something does go right
I get so nervous; and I want to say

[Chorus]
Baby I’m so sorry
Can you please – please forgive me
I know I can’t make it right
But I’m willin’ to fight
Oh baby I’m so sorry
I hope that you understand
That I just want a chance

[Verse 1]
Sometimes I wonder what you do
Wondering what you’re up to
I hide behind a voice with no emotion
But the truth is that I miss you
Your eyes, the way they used to twinkle
Now who do you look at with that smile
Hide again behind a mask with no emotion
And all I got to say is

[Chorus x 1]

[Bridge]
Can I hold you one more time?
All I want is you by my side
Just want to hear your heart beat
I’m still waiting for you
Come back to me
And I won’t let you go, no

[Verse 2]
As long as you tell me you’re fine
I breathe another breath of relief, sigh
Then I guess I’m okay
Soon everything will fade
Tomorrow’s another day
And I pick myself up again
And go on like yesterday
But all I got to say is

[Chorus x1]

[Final Chorus]
Baby I’m so sorry
Can you please – please forgive me
I know I can’t make it right
But I’m willin’ to fight
Oh baby I’m so sorry
I hope that you understand
That I just want a chance
To be the one

No More Dreams Tonight

3 part poem-ish

I lie awake
Counting the tiles on my ceiling
I lie awake
Listening to the fan dancing
Above my ceiling
I lie awake and I think
I think thoughts
“No more dreams tonight”
I say to myself
Like a mantra
More like a prayer

I lie awake
Afraid to fall asleep
I pray there to be
No more dreams tonight
--

I hold your hand
Placed it within mine
And whispered to your ear
“Do you remember the time…”

Unrealistic, must be a dream
Look up to the sky
The world tearing by its seam

Off in the distance
There was a fallen tree
And I felt the eyes
Of the withered leaves
Staring at me

Turning around now
I grab your hand
"Why don’t we go
Somewhere only we know.."
I can take us away from here
You know, that place
At the end of the rainbow

Something we dreamed of
--

I told myself
No more dreams tonight
How did I lose the fight
To you
Or to myself
I’m not quite sure anymore

The Secret Side of Me

The secret side of me
That I never let you see
I try to keep it caged
Contained, but lately

I can’t control it
It’s breaking free
And exposing
The secret side of me

Imagism

Alright then, Imagism...how do I start.

At the beginning I found them boring and not very artistic, but as I wrote them, I began having more fun.

It was a good kind of fun, being able to play with my words. The fact that I can just write without asking myself this, "Is it good enough to be handed in?"
The answer is: "Nope! And it doesn't even matter."

This makes me feel great. Awesome even. I'm so tired of trying to fulfill things.
Parents, extended family, casual friends, ex's, paperwork...
You can all suck on this.

Enjoy!

Some Poor Soul
A shoe
Dusted with dirt
Sits out on the curb
Abandoned for stench
Oh, some poor sole

A Daisy
A single daisy
Against the wind
Showered upon
Battered
Still smells sweet

A Secret
Come here
I’ll tell you a secret
Come here
I’ll whisper in your ear
Come here
And I’ll say,
“There’s no more soap
In the bathroom.”

Something…Something
There’s a man
Who stands at this curb
Waiting in the rain
Alone, looking up
At something
For some reason
I think

One More Drink
It was in this moment
The bottle sat on the table
Empty
Beaded with sweat
In his hand, a rose
Thorns digging
Blood trickling
Down the empty bottle

Simple Squirrel
Squirrel still
Sitting in the
Shade of a rock
Still as stone
Savouring its acorn

Radiation
Red stone building
Crumbling chips
Flaky dry dust
Geiger Counter
Ticking tick
Ah, radiation.
